Shome Banerjee
Shome Banerjee is a New York based Filmmaker. He has been producing short films, corporate videos, music videos & feature films since 2000; He started SB Talkies Productions in 2003 to start promoting his work.
In 2002, he ventured out to shoot his very first feature called ‘College Ave’; In 2003 His short film ‘Sophie’ won the Audience Choice Award at the NJ Film Festival after which he decided to finer his film making skills by joining the New York Film Academy for their filmmaking course. He went on to Assist Aditya Raj Kapoor on a feature called “Sanbar Salsa”, He also worked on a Documentary, which was aired on Indian National Television (Doordarshan) in 2004 while continuing to produce other short films.
Shome has mostly worked in the corporate side of the business with FOX Entertainment and later Dailymotion while simultaneously producing & directing two short films ‘Ammar Maa’ (My Mother) in 2010 and ‘Hotel New York’ (2012). Both films started gaining a lot of traction at various film festivals. In May 2012 he picked up the Silver Palm Award for Hotel New York at the Mexico International Film Festival while Ammar Maa (My Mother) & Hotel New York were at the Court Metrage at the Festival de Cannes in 2011.
SB Talkies Productions currently handles line production for shorts & features, Renting out Equipment and a full post facility including an Editing Suite and Sound Mixing Studio. Shome travels between New York, Mumbai and Kolkata and is currently working on a few projects.
